![]() And it’s working about 5x faster than Glenn Fleishman is seeing in his Macworld first look, for some reason. Programmatic control UPnP architecture also enables conventional application programmatic control. I’m seeing about 10MB/sec doing backups over a gigabit ethernet network – not stellar, but it’s fast enough for what I’m using it for. UPnP enables vendor control over device UI and interaction using the browser as well as conventional application programmatic control. On the storage side of things, I switched my Time Machine backups to use the drive in the Time Capsule again, everything worked as expected. Actually, not everything worked right away – I had to power cycle my cable modem to get things talking to each other – but after that everything was great. 2- For mapping the router, you need to know wich is. I cant find software that let you customize the gateway you want to ask the UPnP configuration to be run of. Got the Time Capsule home, plugged it in, everything worked as expected. 1- The thing is that UPNP software allways ask the mapping to the gateway of yor current pc (your router). I was thinking about doing this anyway, since I wanted 802.11n in the house, but a dead router was a great excuse to do it sooner rather than later. So I went down to the Apple store (about 5 minutes away), and bought the last 500GB Time Capsule they had in stock. From the Time capsule, I have 2 desktops, 1 usb drive, and a printer connected to the time capsule. I have the modem connected to the time capsule. I am shoewee talking to comcastcares) Comcast states it has nothing to do with the cable modem, and it is the time capsule. The only way to fix it was to either wait a few minutes for it to come back, or power cycle it. I've worked on Twitter with comcast (see our conversation if you want. Like, every few minutes it would stop responding in the admin interface, and connections to the internet would be stopped. Set the UDP time out to 660 seconds, if the TCP time out is less than 11. I mean, if all else fails, power cycle, right? Well lo and behold, it started working…who would have thunk? So then I’m playing with Back to my Mac, and it’s all looking good. Configure the options as follows: Enable UPnP & NAT-PMP. If by 'Plug and Play protocols' you are referring to both UPnP & NAT-PMP. time you have or DMZ or port fowarding set up, right. I am unable to make a local network connection to my new WD EX2 Ultra M圜loud apparently because of a difference in Plug and Play protocols expected by the M圜loud device and those supported by the Apple Time Capsule. So then I get the crazy idea to just unplug the router’s power, and then plug it back in. NAT-PMP from ASUS Router Is UPnP actually required for gaming, P2P, etc. :-) I had a Linksys BEFSR41, which is on Apple’s supported list, but no love. This requires everything in your router (specifically UPnP or NAT-PMP) to be working just so…and it wasn’t. This last week, I was working on getting Back to My Mac working on my computers.
